| HOUSTON BAR AUXILIARY CHARITABLE FUND |
Since its inception in 1982, the activities of the Houston Bar Auxiliary Charitable Fund, Inc., (CF) have grown to include the distribution of the “Now You Are 18” booklets, support for the HBA Habitat House, the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program, the John J. Eikenburg Fun Run, and the HBA adopted school B.C. Elmore Middle School. Projects are evaluated annually to meet the current needs.
In 2003, the CF established the Houston Bar Auxiliary Charitable Fund, Inc., Scholarship. The Charitable Fund awards a $5,000.00 scholarship(s) annually to deserving students at the Houston area law schools. The selection is based on scholastic achievement, need and community involvement. It is open to any 2L at the Houston area law schools who is a State of Texas resident. Last year we were able to award three (3) scholarships as a result of our fundraising efforts at the Harvest Party. The number of scholarships awarded will be determined annually. Questions may be e-mailed to phyllisdent@comcast.net.
In order to continue the support of these growing projects, and with the long-range goal of establishing a self-perpetuating fund, all Auxiliary members and friends are encouraged to make donations, memorial gifts, and honoraria to the 501(c)3 fund. All contributions to the Houston Bar Auxiliary Charitable Fund, Inc. are tax deductible. Contributions may be sent to the CF Treasurer: Sandy Norris 213 Warrenton Drive Houston, Texas 77024. Questions may be emailed to swnorris@comcast.net.
