Do the WRITE Thing - Sponsored by the National Campaign to Stop Violence and directed at 7th and 8th grade students, this Program requires students to write essays explaining how violence, gang activitiy and drugs affect their lives. HBAA members read and "grade" between 2500 and 4000 of these essays each year. Members can read as few or many as they are able to find time for. It is an enlightening and often tear jerking experience because the essays are written by Houston students!

| Let Sue know when you will be coming. Respond in the volunteer section above or Sue's contact info is below. Thanks!
It is time again to put on your glasses, get out your pencil and come to Sue Bennett’s house to read the "Do the Write Thing" essays. We will serve lunch and light snacks. If you can't make it to the review sessions below, you can take some essays home and review them at your own convenience. We need your help because we have over 2,000 essays to read! I look forward to working with everyone.
